Taj Mahal - Essay Example Taj Mahal is one of the most visited places of interests in India by all tourists, especially foreigners for whom it is on top of their priority list. The fifth Mughal king Shah Jehan made this monument out of love for his beloved second wife, Mumtaz Mahal, to fulfil her wish on deathbed. She wanted the King to build a monument of their love to show it to the whole world. King Shah Jehan fulfiled her wish by building a miracle of white marble in the loving memory of his beloved wife. History says that the monument took 22 years to complete in 1653. That time, it cost 32 Million Rupees. The guide informs that it took twenty thousand workmen and expert craftsmen from countries like Persia, France, Iran, Italy and Turkey to build the Taj Mahal under the supervision of a Persian architect, Ustad Isa.
